Christine Siazon leads Red Dot Design Inc., a supplier of in-store merchandising, point-of-purchase advertising and displays, and exhibit booths. Recently, they also added supermarket and mall centerpieces and technical displays to their product offerings.
Despite being in the industry for 12 years, Christine shares some challenges they encounter when tapping multinational clients: bulk orders with “unacceptable” payment structures.
These projects, while good business, make accepting new projects and servicing existing clients a challenge. There would be instances where Christine must hire new staff and purchase raw materials to fulfil the contract and then typically wait 60-90 days for payment. Simply put, accepting such contracts required a significant increase in her working capital.
